Proform Elliptical Machine Workout - Increasing Intensity
A great way to do a Proform elliptical machine workout would be to really make use of the different programs they have preset, to vary the intensity levels during the workout, and to make use of the incline ramp that comes with most models. If you change these settings during your workout, you could get an almost infinite number of combinations to allay any workout boredom.
That's really important, because you'll spend a longer time on an exercise machine if it doesn't get tedious. You'll also work different muscles at different intensities, which is a good thing if you are trying to improve your strentgth and fitness levels. I like to warm up slow for a few minutes, than start cranking up the intensity every 5 minutes or so. That gets my body used to an intensity before I ask it to do more.

Proform Elliptical Machine 1050 E - New in 2010
The Proform elliptical machine 1050 E model is one that just came out in 2010. From the reviews I'm reading, people are really liking it. It has a nice graphical display that tracks your time, the distance you stride, your heart rate, and the calories burned. It's also very quiet, as are most ellipticals.
The Proform 1050 E has a super ramp, adjustable stride, 24 programs you can use, and 20 resisstance levels. There is also a music port for your Ipod. This is great, because I don't know very many people who don't like music while they're doing their cardio workout. It just makes it so much easier, even though an elliptical is easy to work out on to start with. This model is still in the under $1,000 price range, though not by much. I'm seeing it at $999 most places.

Proform Elliptical Machine 790E
One of the elliptical models I've been looking at is the Proform elliptical machine 790E model. It has a lot of extra features, such as the ability to increase the incline of the ramp while you're working out. This is a nice feature, because it increases the intensity of your workout on your quadricep muscles and your glutes. Those are definitely the places that we women like to give extra work!

Proform Elliptical Machines - Cheaper Than A Gym Membership
Proform elliptical machines are made by ICON Fitness, which also makes other kinds of exercise equipment. From the reviews I've read, their ellipticals have features that other lower-priced ellipticals don't have, and yet they hold up better. They're definitely made for the home market, and yet have features you'd find in gym equipment.
The thing about buying a Proform elliptical machine is that the yearly price of your gym membership would probably more than pay for it! I already have a Bowflex and dumbbell set at home, so it would definitely make sense to get an elliptical as well, then I could do all my workouts in the comfort of my own home. It would fit better with my work schedule. And I could enjoy the TV set to a channel I want to watch and at a volume I can tolerate, rather than the usual gym noise.

Proform Elliptcial Machine Budget Models
I've been looking at the Proform elliptcial machine budget models. They have quite a few models in the over $500 but under $1,000 price range, which not a lot of other manufacturers have. These aren't the ultra-cheap flimsy models that feel like they're moving all over the floor while you work out, or are in danger of breaking down quickly. These look like the perfect ellipticals for home gym use.

There are models that come with a CD sound system, some with an actual gaming system for entertainment while you do your workout routine, and there are even some fold-up models for easy storage if you don't want to leave your machine out all the time. Proform Elliptical Machine
In my quest to find the right equipment for my home gym, I've been looking at the Proform elliptical machine. It is a very popular elliptical that you'll find in a lot of fitness centers.
I really want to get an elliptical because they are very easy on the joints. I have lower back problems and equipment like treadmills cause too much of a jarring sensation. Exercise bikes always seem to put my back in a painful position, maybe because I'm short and they aren't very adjustable. The elliptical machines I've worked out on at the gym are really easy to use, they almost feel like you're gliding on air. I think a cardiovascular workout is a really important part of fitness, so I'd like to get one of these for my home. Then I can get a workout in when I don't have time to go to the gym. Who knows, I could even drop my gym membership and save some money!
