I've been looking at the Proform elliptcial machine budget models. They have quite a few models in the over $500 but under $1,000 price range, which not a lot of other manufacturers have. These aren't the ultra-cheap flimsy models that feel like they're moving all over the floor while you work out, or are in danger of breaking down quickly. These look like the perfect ellipticals for home gym use.
Some of these Proform models have some interesting features. There are models that come with a CD sound system, some with an actual gaming system for entertainment while you do your workout routine, and there are even some fold-up models for easy storage if you don't want to leave your machine out all the time. I'm definitely going to try one of these out at a sports store and see if I like the feel of it. I've never used an uncomfortable elliptical, but you never know.
